If you or your orginisation believe that you have the stamina, will power, strength and endurance to compete at the Dalriada Festival, then this is for you!

At present, competitor registration and entries for the Rowing Regatta, Dalriada WIPEOUT, Big Fun Run, Super Endurocross, Triathlon, Kids Duathlon and Beach Mounted Relay is NOW OPEN.

IMPORTANT NOTE: All competitors must be physically fit and have sufficient experience in participating at similar events. (Excluding Dalriada WIPEOUT)


Glenarm Gets Ready for World Famous Highland Games

It was a case of let the games begin as Glenarm Castle officially launched their world famous Highland Games at Glenarm Castle today, Thursday 23rd May.  The games will take place on 13th – 14th July 2013 and will officially open Northern Ireland’s Premier Cultural event, the P&O Ferries Dalriada Festival in partnership with UTV, 13th-20th July 2013.
Now in its 15th year, the Highland Games will see teams from Ireland and Scotland have their strength, passion and pride tested to the extreme! Visitors will watch in awe as the teams battle to take home the coveted title of Highland Games champions 2013.
Northern Ireland’s own UK strongman Glenn Ross will help lead the McDonnell clan into action against their returning Scottish opponents which will, this year, include representatives from the famous Campbell Clan in a heated Tug-o-War competition.
Visitors to the Highland Games will not only have the opportunity to watch strongmen battle it out but, over the two days, enjoy fine food, watch celebrity chef’s -  Paul Rankin, Paula McIntrye and Ian Orr, be entertained by Irish music and dance sensation Celtic Dream plus check out the world’s only sheep fashion show, chic sheep. Also, Sunday 14th July will see country ‘strongman’ Nathan Carter take to the stage with an incredible support line-up.

Glenarm village also has a role to play in the Festival with events including the Glenarm Village Auld Hirin’ Fair on 15th July, Dalriada Wipeout on Tuesday 16th July and the Super Endurocross at Old Glenarm Quarry on 18th July – to name but a few! If this isn’t enough the festival will close in spectacular fashion on Saturday 20th July with a colourful fireworks finale and activities including a teddy bear’s picnic and rowing regatta.

Returning for a second year, the hugely successful event saw a jammed packed ‘cow-walk’ featuring fashionable sheep from across the country.  The overall winner (pictured below) picked up a substantial cash prize  - which is up for grabs again this year.
The Chic Sheep Fashion Show will take place as part of the Highland Games on Sunday 14th July and is sponsored by Edinburgh Woollen Mills in partnership with Ulster Young Farmer.

The Glenarm Sprint Triathlon, relay and Children's race's are now open for entry. This is a Triathlon Ireland Sanctioned event and will be held on the 17th July 2013. Early bird registration (£35) will be available for a limited time only.

We are pleased to announce that INVICTUS TRIATHLON SQUAD will again be coordinating the triathlon at this years Dalriada Festival, following a hugely successful event in 2012. The triathlon will take place on the evening of Wednesday 17th July and will be open to both amateurs and professionals. Invictus will also be running the Kids Duathlon which was a fantastic showcase last year and gives the young and aspiring athlete the opportunity to spread their wings and experience the adrenaline fuelled buzz of a competition. Rising Star of Irish Country Music, NATHAN CARTER, to headline at this year's Dalriada Festival

The hottest, rising  young star of the Irish Country Music  scene, Nathan Carter is set to headline Dalriada Live, Sunday 14th July,  at this year’s P&O Ferries Dalriada Festival of Sport, Music & Fine Foods in the grounds of the historic Glenarm Castle.
At only 22 years old, Nathan Carter has already recorded four CDs and has a hugely successful DVD.  Fans can expect to hear many of his hit songs, including; Wagon Wheel, One for the Road and Caledonia at the festival. Nathan has brought country music to a whole new generation of fans and with his shows regularly selling out across Ireland organisers are advising to book early to avoid disappointment.
P&O Ferries Dalriada Festival, supported by UTV and NITB, which runs Saturday 13th – Saturday 20th July is set in the glorious surroundings of the majestic Glenarm Estate. The festival will include sporting events such as the Campbell V MacDonnell Highland Games (13th – 14th July) as well as featuring fine foods, celebrity chef demonstrations, live music and dancing, children’s entertainment and much more.

Dalriada Festival 2013.....building on success

First of all, a big Happy New Year to all our friends and fans. We hope you have a great 2013. Planning for the Dalriada Festival 2013 is well underway, and if you didn't already know it, this years event will be running from 13th July to 20th July 2013. Similar to last year the main events of the Dalriada Festival will take place on 13th and 14th July including the Highland Games, Fine Foods, Music, Exhibitions, Gardens and much more. Again each evening will come to an end with an outdoor concert, with artists being announced very soon. The Festival week will include a wide variety of family events and of course some of the most competitive sporting events to ever take place along the Antrim Coast.
